Automotive supplier Brose UK has announced plans to build a £34.8 million factory adjacent to its existing site in Exhall, Coventry.

The company said the 11,400 m2 plant would create 372 new jobs by 2021, with a further 74 generated in the UK supply chain.

The new recruits, which will include apprentices and graduates, will be trained at Brose UK's £3m training academy launched in January.

The new facility will be responsible for delivering lightweight seat structures directly to three car makers in the UK.

Brose UK, which supplies window regulators and rear seating systems from its base in Coventry, will receive in the region of £3m from the Regional Growth Fund to help support its expansion.

The cash boost, announced by Business Secretary Vince Cable, will be used to support the capital costs of building and equipping the new factory.

Juergen Zahl, Brose UK's managing director, said: "Support from the Regional Growth Fund has accelerated our ability to open the new facility by early 2016 and gives us the platform to win future business within the Brose Group."
