FSB selects Infor ERP LN to streamline production and sales processes

Door fittings and locks manufacturer Franz Schneider Brakel (FSB) is implementing Infor ERP LN at three sites in Germany and the USA to consolidate its systems and manage production and sales centrally.

Phase One will see FSB substituting an existing ERP system by proAlpha with Infor ERP LN at its site in Groitzsch, with go-live due on 1 January 2012. Then FSB's headquarters at Brakel will shift from Baan IV to the new Infor ERP system, while QuickBooks at its US sales subsidiary is also replaced. "For many years, Baan handled even the most customised processes in our company," states FSB CEO Udo Brechmann. He explains that, at its Brakel HQ, for example, Baan handled all production processes. Hence, when Baan's successor, Infor ERP LN, was able to model FSB's production processes more easily than competitors' solutions, FSB elected to stay with Infor. "That's why we, as a manufacturer, trust Infor – especially now during the IT consolidation period. Thanks to the flexibility of Infor ERP LN, the in-depth know-how of Infor's consultants and the comparatively low TCO, we expect this project to be a success," he adds. Brechmann also says that the multi site approach of Infor ERP LN will help FSB to move away from its former customer-supplier relationship between the German production site and its US sales subsidiary. By settling intra-company deliveries internally, he says that FSB will streamline administration and accounting processes and link departments more closely, despite international borders.
