Mechanical and electronic components manufacturer Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst says it is implementing IFS Applications to consolidate and streamline its business processes worldwide.

The company, which serves the automotive access, security and immobiliser industry, says the deal is worth €4 million and includes software and consulting services. Thomas Grabowski, executive vice president at Huf, explains that the company has operations in 13 countries worldwide, and needed an agile and flexible enterprise system to consolidate its business operations across the globe. He says Huf went for IFS partly for the system's speed and ease of implementation, partly for the promised low total cost of ownership, and partly for the potential of a strategic partnership. "We were impressed with IFS' expertise and its understanding of our business, which is crucial to the long-term relationship we are now embarking on. IFS demonstrated a strong commitment to helping us fulfil our business objectives both on a short term basis to show immediate impact and in the future," says Grabowski. He expects immediate improvements in terms of business insights around finance, engineering, sales, distribution, manufacturing, and HR across several locations – the end game being an end-to-end management system that consolidates multiple disparate databases. "The automotive industry is changing rapidly and companies must be able to react and respond quickly to these challenging market conditions. With IFS Applications we can provide our employees with easy access to accurate, critical business information throughout the enterprise to better manage costs and performance," confirms Grabowski.
