German nuclear power simulator and training company KSG says it is implementing IFS Applications to enhance its planning and financial processes.

KSG, which runs a massive training centre for more than 2,000 staff from 17 nuclear power plants to attend annually, says that IFS Applications will replace its legacy VAX-based system. KSG CEO Dr Eberhard Hoffmann says that the goal is to increase utilisation of the simulators. He hopes that, by implementing a modern, integrated solution, the organisation will enhanceits financial, warehousing, project management and planning processes. KSG is owned by the German nuclear power operators E.ON Kernkraft, Vattenfall Europe Nuclear Energy, RWE Power, EnBW Kraftwerke and Netherlands NV Electriciteits-Produktiemaatschappij Zuid-Nederland. Training covers the entire range of nuclear power plant operations, from normal to operational disturbances and severe accidents. "We chose IFS based on the functionality of IFS Applications and because we were confident that we could collaborate with IFS to successfully implement a complex project such as this," comments Hoffmann.
