SSA Global acquires Provia software

ERP conglomerate SSA Global Technologies has now acquired web-based supply chain execution (SCE) software developer Provia Software. The deal gives SSA a system aimed at SME manufacturers, assemblers and distributors, which provides integrated web services for warehouse management, order management, analytics and transportation management that also has RFID functionality. The system adds to SSA’s larger supply chain management offerings (Advanced Planning and Scheduling, Warehouse Management and Transportation Management), which mostly target larger, higher volume distribution users in the third-party logistics (3PL), consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, high tech and wholesale and retail markets. “Through the Provia acquisition, SSA Global increases its current position in supply chain management by bringing new capabilities to companies in industries we already know and serve,” says Mike Greenough, chairman, president and CEO of SSA Global.
