Systems integration expert Boulting Technology, has appointed Robin Whitehead as its new managing director. Whitehead, who has been with Boulting for 25 years, will oversee the company’s range of services including systems integration, industrial network systems and pump centre optimisation across the country.

Boulting Technology, which celebrates its centenary in 2018, is a nationwide provider of industrial network solutions, power quality, systems integration, control centre assemblies and pump system optimisation. It prides itself on delivering maximum value to its clients across sectors including food and beverage, utilities and general manufacturing.

Previously the strategic project director at Boulting Technology, Whitehead’s experience in the electrical services spans almost 20 years. After an impressive career including project management for Siemens, Whitehead joined Boulting in 2003, where he has been responsible for technical design, planning and organisation of project resources.

The promotion will allow him to use these skills alongside his knowledge of the electrical and engineering sectors to lead the company to new heights. In the changing times and trend towards a connected, smart factory, the services Boulting Technology is offering its clients are also evolving.

“Becoming director on the year of the centenary is the perfect reminder of how Boulting Technology has come, and of the exciting developments that are yet to come,” explained Whitehead.

“The first of these developments is our recent alliance with IT consultancy, NETbuilder. This alliance is a direct result of feedback from our clients, that information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) were converging at such a fast rate, they were worried about cybersecurity risks. By joining forces with NETbuilder, we can ensure our clients receive the outstanding end-to-end digitalisation service they have come to expect from us.

“It is this close-to-the-ground and responsive nature that I wish to encourage for Boulting Technology going forward. Having worked in a hands-on role within the company for a number of years, I have the relationships and experience to ensure our engineers are able to provide this crucial feedback and move the company forward,” concluded Whitehead.
