In response to its customers, manufacturing-focussed business intelligence (BI) software provider Silvon Software has just launched two new software modules – Stratum Demand Planning and Forecasting and Stratum Exception Manager. Mike Hennel, Ceo at Silvon, commented: “The new software is a natural progression of our range. A lot of our customers have got very good at the analytical stuff, but now want to improve their demand planning.” Silvon’s new demand planning software includes statistical sales and operations planning process that helps bring together sales and marketing information into one forecast for the business. “Companies typically do this by trying to consolidate data from numerous spreadsheets. We can leverage the sales and marketing information held in the central repository [if they are using Silvon’s BI software] and show it to business users and to customers via the web,” said Hennel. And according to Hennel, the firm’s new supply chain event management software, Exception Manager, is also a natural next step for customers that are successfully using the demand planning software. “It’s a logical extension – if you know what your demand plan is, you then need to make sure it all happens smoothly. Alerts, exception reports and automating routine tasks can help here.”
