A Wakefield-based specialist fabricator has doubled the size of its business over the last five years after announcing £2m of new business in 2018.

Conservatory Outlet, which employs 130 people at its 60,000 sq ft facility, has seen turnover increase from £8.4m in 2013 to £18.3m this year, with the significant growth attributed to a strategic plan focused on actively boosting its network of retail customers through tailored sales, marketing and operational support.

“We are continually innovating our products, the technology we use and the customer service we deliver, and it appears to be paying off with year-on-year growth since 2013,” explained Michael Giscombe, managing director at Conservatory Outlet.

“Our Yorkshire factory has also enjoyed significant investment in advanced production capabilities and we’ve matched this spending in the creation of 43 new jobs that ensures we have the skills we need to meet demand.”

He continued: “With the addition of Bon Accord Glass in Aberdeen and Styleglaze in Daventry this year, we have boosted our geographic coverage even further and are able to support even more customers.”

Conservatory Outlet’s growth has been recognised recently, as the firm won the “Manufacturer of the Year’ title at the Wakefield Manufacturing Awards.
