Nintendo scores high with JD Edwards Oneworld XE across Europe

Nintendo Europe, based in Grobostheim, Germany, has adopted the financial modules of JD Edwards OneWorld Xe ERP system to enable consolidation of all information across its European affiliates in Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and the UK using web technologies.

It means management can now monitor day-to-day business operations with better visibility and faster reporting on profitability by product, customer, affiliate and so forth. To help manage what are compex and fast moving operations The company says high data quality for all accounting and fiscal needs was the prevailing determinant for selecting OneWorld Xe. In addition, the system’s flexible web architecture has enabled rapid integration with Nintendo’s legacy IT-environments across all its affiliates. “OneWorld Xe streamlines and synchronises our financial operations throughout Europe,” says Takuya Yoshimura, managing director Finance, Administration Operations, Nintendo Europe. “With up-to-the-minute, fully visible financial information, Nintendo can continue to build on its competitive success. “The data provided by OneWorld Xe represents a sound foundation for timely and accurate decisions.” OneWorld Xe-Finance enables firms to simplify enterprise-wide consolidation and reporting of financial results in multi-country environments. The system covers conversion and processing of data based on multiple languages, currencies and different representations. Users get financial analysis, graphical modelling and data exports to other applications including Excel, using OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) and DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange).
