Rada Controls, the commercial division of bathroom supplies manufacturer Kohler Mira, has just launched its online product catalogue and specification tool. And by outsourcing the creation and hosting of this catalogue, the firm has managed to launch in just three weeks. The catalogue is based on Content Hub, a hosted service from UK-based content management specialist Reqio. It enables clients to outsource the management and presentation of their rich product catalogue content without any loss of data ownership. And the product catalogue can be tailored for clients to integrate with e-procurement software. Rada Controls already had a CD version of the product catalogue for some time, but after receiving positive customer feedback for an online version, Rada decided to go ahead with a web catalogue to allow clients to configure complete bathroom solutions from a diverse range of Rada components. “Content Hub has enabled us to quickly exploit the market interest in our specification tool with minimum risk and effort on our part,” comments Nigel Hill, brand marketing manager at Rada Controls. “Although we had completed much of the work in terms of creating the product information, we liked the approach of a one-stop-shop. It negated the need to purchase hardware and software and simplified the support of this new channel. By taking advantage of Content Hub, we’re meeting our goals whilst leaving us free to concentrate on other market initiatives.” While its too early to project ROI, Rada could see internal savings through the management of a single repository of product information able to drive multiple catalogue (and e-procurement software) formats.
