Two of CAD/CAM/PDM software developer UGS’ UK resellers have merged their Solid Edge CAD software and services interests. Birmingham-based Solid Applications takes over responsibility for the development and support of the Solid Edge customers of Nottingham and Edinburgh-based Redcastle. The agreement makes Solid Applications one of Europe’s largest resellers of UGS’ Solid Edge mechanical CAD software, with nearly 1,500 users in more than 400 sites in the machinery, electromechanical and tooling and fixtures design and manufacturing industries. Chris Hill, managing director of solid Applications, says: “This is an amicable agreement. The added strength that the agreement brings to Solid Applications will enable us to provide an even better level of service to existing users from both companies.” Jeff Proctor, managing director of Redcastle, adds “I am confident that this agreement is in the best interests of our existing Solid Edge users. It also enables Redcastle to concentrate on developing its other lines of business.”
