WM is offering the exclusive opportunity to tour the 2013 Best Factory award winner, Sony UK Technology Centre, Pencoed on 8 September 2015.
A handful of places are available to tour the Sony site, which has enjoyed a spectacular transformation from making high volume TVs to broadcast camera systems for Sky and the BBC.
Sony won the Toyota Material Handling Factory of the Year accolade at the 2013 BFAs- the first Welsh winner. The site was also named Best Electronics & Electrical Plant and the Innovation Award winner in the same year.
Sony Pencoed's commitment to product quality has helped win a contract manufacturing deal for the Raspberry Pi mini-computer back from China.
The deal has helped the plant record a 50% increase in workload over the past two years.
Attend the tour to discover how a "visionary" management team brought about the success and coped with the burgeoning order volumes.
You'll also get the chance to quiz frontline operators on how they've been trained up from assembling TVs to high tech camera systems. The tour will offer insight into a new Supercell system that's increased line efficiency by 50%.
Dr Marek Szwejczewski, BFA judge and director of the awards, said: "Sony Pencoed has a highly skilled workforce, state of the art electronics manufacturing equipment and processes, and a focus on innovation, especially process innovation."
Tickets cost £350 (excluding VAT) per place or £315 per place for booking of three or more people.
