Plastic tanks and fabrications builder Forbes Group has signed a deal with Autodesk reseller Micro Concepts for Autodesk Inventor and Inventor Professional 3D CAD seats to support its new turnkey business development programme.
“We recognised the need to move to 3D modelling to provide our clients with a rapid and high-quality design service,” says IT manager Roberto Ramasso.
“As we continue to develop our technical expertise to provide turnkey solutions and move into new markets, Inventor’s intuitive approach will … speed up the design process and involve clients effectively from an early stage.”
Ramasso also cites the system’s ability to integrate with the company’s AutoCAD-based designs as a key factor in the choice, meaning Forbes can retain its existing 2D capability.
“We chose Micro Concepts as it has a strong reputation for the quality of its consultancy advice and technical support,” adds Ramasso. Forbes plans a phased introduction, which will include integration with the company’s ERP system, automating BoM (bill of materials) production and supporting the manufacturing and purchasing teams.
