Power and automation firm, ABB has launched the 2011 edition of ABB's drives and motors catalogue.
The drives and motors catalogue includes the Product Quickfinder, an easy-to-read table that helps manufacturers produce a shortlist of best fit drives and motors.
The catalogue also includes the featurefinder to help users match product features to fit specific applications according to ABB.
New products featured in the catalogue include a new ABB industrial drive suitable for all applications.
Also featured in the new catalogue is MotorAdvantage, a scheme that aims to help the process industry uncover the true cost of running electric motors. The scheme assesses current motor policies in up to five motor-driven applications and identifies improvements that can be made according to ABB.
MotorAdvantage can show when a motor is likely to fail and calculate the impact on production, said ABB.
The aim is to show the value of holding critical spares and/or using a third party to hold replacement motors allowing organisations to minimise downtime in critical processes.
