Airbus, which has been using e-procurement and spend management software from Ariba for the past year to source goods and services, has extended its license to take the project further.
The company says that using Ariba Enterprise Sourcing, it has experienced significant cost, time and admin savings, improved its collaborative working and achieved better control and consistency with its sourcing and procurement business processes.
Airbus also says that its suppliers like the system because it is secure, clear, quick and fair.
To date, more than 1,000 internal Airbus buyers and a larger number of suppliers have participated in several hundred calls for tender, and the system has become the first part of Airbus’ Sup@irWorld initiative, which Airbus intends to manage all activities with its suppliers.
Airbus will now use the software to support all sourcing activities from identifying potential suppliers to awarding contracts.
