Stainless steel manufacturer Alexander Comley reports a successful go-live of Microsoft Dynamics AX, with Syscom as the implementation partner, in just seven weeks.
The company, which produces duplex and high nickel alloy flanges, pipes and fittings, now says it expects to improve business intelligence, increase efficiency and enhance company-wide collaboration.
Managing director Chris Bourne-Hallett explains that the company had outgrown its "inflexible accounting package", and "wanted something that would allow us to easily extract and analyse the business data that matters".
He also says the firm needed an integrated ERP system that would capture information across the business and enhance collaborative working.
"It was vital that the system encompasses the entire organisation for efficient sharing of information and to minimise duplication of efforts, plus incorporates the benefits of our existing stock system," says Bourne-Hallett.
Commenting on the new system, he says: "It will give us fantastic visibility into the entire organisation and facilitate the traceability we need to comply with industry regulations, without needing complicated and expensive workarounds."
"For us this was absolutely the right time to invest in software that will provide a foundation for growth," he continues. "Our continuous investment in technology to support our experienced workforce, alongside our understanding of customers' requirements, allows us to continue providing market leading turnaround times and helps differentiates us from our competitors."
