Cambridge-based Anglia Business Solutions has acquired Norwich-based Supply Chain Systems (SCS) from its US parent AgriWise, under an undisclosed share purchase agreement.

Anglia, which implements Microsoft Dynamics and .Net based ERP solutions, mostly in the food industry, says it will now be able to offer users integrated end-to-end supply chain solutions where needed. Says SCS managing director Jimmy Moir: "We have been working with Anglia for some time now, and it is evident that this company has a superb technology platform from which to accelerate the next stage of development." He says the existing SCS client support team in Norwich remains in place and will be complemented by an experienced group in Cambridge. There will be no changes to the PickWise software programmes for 2009. Anglia managing director David Hurley comments: "This acquisition is strategic for Anglia as it leverages SCS's proven expertise within the grower community. We already have plans for how the PickWise system can be enhanced. "The initiative will also extend the scope of the LINKFresh suite from the seed to the fork making it the most comprehensive fresh produce solution in the market."
