Apetito angles for smart SAP implementation

Frozen meals manufacturer apetito in the UK, which serves primarily local authorities and NHS Trusts, is to use Diagonal Consulting for its impending SAP implementation, which will bring it into line with its German parent, already a SAP user. The company says it had outgrown its existing business and manufacturing management system in Trowbridge, which also supported sales, distribution and warehousing largely in Portbury, near Bristol. Diagonal is now working with apetito’s in-house IT and business teams to define project scope, and management and operations training requirements, before going on to implement the system. apetito UK’s CEO Paul Freeston says: “Our business has been expanding at an average of a little over 15% for each of the past four years. As a result we have outgrown our existing systems, and needed to find a new solution that would enable us to continue to develop and grow the business. “Our research indicated that SAP was the best option. Before choosing Diagonal, we undertook a detailed appraisal – including reference site visits – of three potential suppliers. “We chose Diagonal because of its proven technical and project capabilities, cultural fit with our organisation and its extensive food industry experience.” Beyond that the firm is also acknowledged for its skills transfer approach and post implementation support.
