Savings up to 70% are being claimed by HMI (human machine interface), SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and production management systems developer Wonderware, for its Industrial Application Server now at v2.1.
Its plant information and automation platform, available in the UK through Pantek, expands the capabilities of parent company Invensys’ ArchestrA technology.
The new release includes several engineering productivity enhancements, including a new user-defined object template, advanced alarm filtering and intuitive history-browsing.
Wonderware says the embedded ArchestrA software architecture also reduces total cost of ownership by providing a single, comprehensive toolkit for all plant automation and information application requirements. It also enables rapid re-use and deployment of best engineering practice.
Combine that with Wonderware’s recently released Enterprise Integration Application 2.0, which links different manufacturing systems and business applications, and you’re looking at an increasingly powerful suite for business productivity that spans much of discrete as well as process manufacturing.
