Ariba comes out on top in e-procurement battle
e-procurement software and services specialist Ariba is delivering better functionality that similar offerings available from the large ERP providers, according to a study from analyst Aberdeen Group.
Its ‘E-Procurement Head-to-Head’ report identifies Ariba as the leading solution in supply management and finds that companies using Ariba’s solutions outperform customers of SAP and Oracle in e-procurement and so-called spend management.
Its findings are based on data from around 200 companies using e-procurement. Aberdeen found Ariba users scoring highest on a range of attributes including ‘supplier enablement’, spend under management, requisition-to-purchase order cycle time and cost, user adoption, transaction volumes and software functionality.
Says Vance Checketts, vice president of global supply management at Aberdeen: “Oracle and SAP are clearly the biggest players, but our research shows that Ariba’s solutions lead in the competitive battle for e-procurement excellence.”
