Communications giant AT&T is to provide co-location hosting and Internet connectivity for Microsoft’s recently launched Exchange Hosted Services (EHS), offering managed messaging services under a partnership deal with Microsoft.
The service covers protection against malware, with virus scanning, content filtering and spam filtering. It also provides for file retention requirements for regulatory compliance, data encryption and backup and recovery using AT&T’s Secure E-Mail Gateway Service based on the Microsoft EHS platform. It means a robust networking solution is instantly available for the Microsoft EHS platform.
AT&T says it will provide Internet Data Centre (IDC) space and Internet connectivity to support EHS services, including Hosted Filtering (policy, anti-spam and antivirus message filtering), Hosted Archive, Hosted Continuity, and Hosted Encryption.
“AT&T is a trusted global provider of IP-based communications services with a proven track record and Microsoft highly values this relationship,” says Eron Kelly, director of Exchange Server marketing at Microsoft. “Our customers rely on Exchange Hosted Services to help protect their network from the growing number of viruses and spam.”
