Autodesk is staging no fewer than 500 digital prototyping day events over the next couple of months across Europe and the Middle East.

All the events, which are free-of-charge, will be hosted by Autodesk reseller partners and aim to showcase the new 2012 release of Autodesk manufacturing software and the company's digital prototyping technology. Delegates will be able to view live demonstrations of all the latest Autodesk products, including the new Factory Design and Product Design suites and Autodesk Inventor 2012. Additionally, Autodesk says that attendees who are AutoCAD Inventor Suite 2011 under subscription will get a free upgrade to the new Autodesk Product Design Suite – giving them access to award-winning design, visualisation and simulation software, for the entire design and development workflow. That suite contains new versions of Autodesk products, including Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, Vault, 3ds Max Design, SketchBook Designer and Showcase. Autodesk says customers will have the chance to learn new tips and tricks to get the most from the new software and perform their design work more efficiently – as well as talking to their peers about digital prototyping. "Autodesk experts will be on hand at the events delivering insights covering everything from how to work effectively with large assemblies to how to create better drawings more quickly to drive greater competitive edge and common pitfalls to avoid in the design process," says a spokesperson. "This is a 'must-attend' event for our customers in the manufacturing and mechanical design sectors."
