Barclays has announced the appointment of Mike Rigby (pictured) as head of manufacturing, transport and logistics for its corporate banking division
In this role, Rigby will be responsible for growing the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector "offering in the UK along with providing continued value added support for Barclays corporate clients".
Rigby originally joined Barclays in 2008 as a relationship director in the manufacturing team. After two years he was promoted to the leadership role of Corporate Director in the broader manufacturing, transport and logistics team
Prior to Barclays, he spent 14 years at HSBC working across several areas of the retail and corporate bank including credit.
Rigby replaces Mark Lee who has moved to head of key clients
Commenting on his new role, Mike Rigby said; "I believe manufacturing, transport and logistics are key industry sectors for the UK and Ireland with manufacturing in particular an important economic driver. These are interesting times for the sectors and I look forward to leading these key industries for Barclays and further building on the many valued client relationships we currently have."
