Leading construction equipment manufacturer JCB has agreed a five-year deal with Barloworld Handling to manage its 310-strong materials handling fleet across 11 factories in the UK.
The deal includes an order for 94 new JCB Teletruks – said to be one of the UK's largest industrial forklift orders this year – and the fleet includes other equipment such as Hyster forklift trucks, tow tractors, sideloaders and warehouse equipment.
A mix of diesel and LPG powered forklifts, with capacities ranging from 3 to 7 tonnes, are used within the 11 JCB sites including the Loadall Division and JCB World Parts, where Hyster VNA machines are used to support the 24-hour picking operation.
Chris Nowell , JCB Industrial's general manager, said: "We have a great deal of experience working with Barloworld. The group mobile plant fleet has been reduced wherever possible in the drive for greater efficiencies and improved performance."
JCB selected Barloworld to manage its fleet because it provides a complete range of materials handling equipment and delivers high levels of service nationwide.
