West Yorkshire valve manufacturer Alco Valves is expecting improved order management, better Just in Time delivery schedules for customers like Shell and BP, and full traceability and certification from implementing Syspro’s advanced quality and product configurator modules with its ERP.
The company is implementing McGuffie Brunton’s system enterprise-wide to manage its full production and supply chain across four Alco companies involved in the oil, petroleum and pipeline industries from its Brighouse plant.
Modules used include manufacturing, distribution and financials, with PLM (product lifecycle management), HR and quality.
Alco is working to a phased implementation that will see an initial system of sales orders, purchasing, works orders and quotations, followed by MRP, HR and the rest later.
Information flow will be significantly improved and, says Mike Cunningham, Alco IT manager, “mean that the same information will be seen across the company, making the business more efficient and improving our MRP.”
