Berk-Tek gets shopfloor data collection online
Network copper and fibre optic cables manufacturer Berk-Tek says it is implementing Lighthouse Systems’ Shopfloor-Online to automate SPC and process data collection at its New Holland plant.
Shopfloor-Online provides real-time feedback to operators relating to the state of products being manufactured throughout the production process.
Berk-Tek intends to capture process parameters directly from the machines’ PLCs using OPC to monitor machine performance from any PC on the network.
Further, it will analyse and correlate process data against finished product performance, resulting, it says, in a better understanding of how changes in the process affect final product.
