A new, web-based risk assessment and permit-to-work system from MVI Technology could simplify, streamline and strengthen your admin in this key area.
The new software module is part of the company’s real-time performance management (RPM) Eventsengine suite. Not only can users get full audit trails automatically, but they can prove compliance with health and safety regulations.
The system operates via a web browser, and ensures that work in hazardous environments is controlled by the electronic issue and recording of permits.
Work authorisations are created on a one-to-one basis from engineering work orders – issued automatically via an enterprise asset management (EAM), or with the system operating stand-alone via on-screen forms detailing the hazards concerned and the necessary controls.
The system also offers a number of special permits for jobs that require particular safety methodologies, such as those involving working at height or in confined spaces.
What’s more, it deals with the regulatory problems for jobs running over several days. HSE regulations require that new general and special permits are produced and authorised for each day, taking into consideration all new information that emerges. The system clones the original permit and adds only new information – saving considerable time and focusing attention where it’s needed to minimise risk.
