McGovern interviewed Trevor Newman, the site's director of supply chain operations, on the plant's business performance ahead of a key ONS announcement on UK economic growth.
Newman commented: "We're on track with our volumes, aided by investment in our new can line a £16.6m investment ? which we're just bringing up to speed now."
Asked about concerns over a slowdown in manufacturing growth among economists, Newman responded: "It's absolutely challenging times out there. During these challenging times, it's really important for us to work closely with local suppliers and listen to consumers and customer needs."
McGovern went on to interview Coca-Cola graduate, Rebecca Savage and factory worker Elliott Martin during the show.
Speaking exclusively to WM after the visit, Newman commented: "It was a pleasure and privilege to share CCE Sidcup with Steph McGovern and BBC Live Breakfast crew this week. They were blown away by speed, efficiency of output from the plant. I am really proud to lead such a highly talented group of people in CCE Sidcup"
The Coca-Cola site has won over £41m in investment from CCE since 2010 including the new £16.6m canning line.
The upgrade will increase on-site production with the line's capacity increasing from 57,600 cans per hour (cph) to 110,000cph.The ONS figures announced yesterday revealed a 0.3% overall growth in the UK economy during the first quarter compared to 0.6% in the last three months of 2014.
