A Birmingham manufacturing and precision engineering business claims that it will make a saving of £26,000 on its energy bill after investing in an energy assessment and leveraging national purchasing power and expertise to identify cost reductions.

Gaugemaster, which specialises in precision engineering, aerospace tooling and aerospace components for customers such as Rolls Royce, Doncasters and Fiat Avio, asked analysts from Ener-G Procurement to negotiate a new two-year contract on its behalf. The company says that in addition to previously negotiated savings, which reduced the company's electricity bill by £4,500 a year in 2008, it will now save an average 32% on its electricity and 13.5% on its gas. Gaugemaster's Fair Ball (pictured left with colleague John Taylor) said: "When shopping around for the best energy deal, it's not easy trying to compare various tariffs and work out which supplier will offer best value and service. It was reassuring to hand this task over to experienced energy managers, who can also deal with any supplier issues on our behalf. "It is always good news when you can cut your overheads and the savings will help fund continued investment in our business, which was 50 years old this year."
