Böllhoff gets Hungarian ERP pilot buttoned down

Global fastenings and assemblies manufacturer Böllhoff says it has successfully gone live with a Lawson M3 ERP pilot in Hungary.

The system integrates its wholesale business operations, extending Böllhoff Group's existing Lawson M3 infrastructure, which will now be mplemented across Böllhof's service departments. Michael Hielscher, who runs business processes at Böllhoff, says that Böllhöff aims to consolidate its two core business areas and its international subsidiaries with a single system to reduce costs and improve efficiency and customer service. In Hungary, the system now covers sales, supply chain planning and execution and accounting, he says, while also supporting the company's internal ECOSIT process (economic supply in time), a key process that Böllhoff uses to monitor the entire supply chain. "As our Hungarian subsidiary worked with disparate systems and information islands, we encountered great data inconsistency," says Hielscher. "We needed one integrated ERP system that could provide clear and transparent processes going forward." For him, the new system provides a best practice framework for further implementations across other countries planning projects – including Germany, Austria and Slovakia.
