Automotive interiors manufacturer Borgstena Gruppen says it has selected IFS Applications to support operations at its new cut and sew factory in Trimsol, Romania.

Pedro Figueiredo, CIO at Borgstena Group, says the main aim is to control manufacturing processes and improve supply chain operations. He explains that the factory will be in charge of supplying complete seat covers to Hyundai Czech Republic together with an unnamed Korean industrial group, and that the system will be the model used for all factories in Czeck Republic, Turkey and Brazil. "Since 2001, Borgstena Gruppen has been trusting the control of processes and operations to IFS Applications, due to the openness, reliability and reduced TCO [total cost of ownership] of this ERP system," comments Figueiredo. Modules used will include IFS Manufacturing, IFS Distribution, and IFS Financials – as per the company's existing implementation at Borgstena Textile, Portugal. The contract is valued at eur 220,000. Borgstena Gruppen's Textile Division has been an IFS Applications since 2001 and currently has 150 users in factories across Sweden and Portugal.
