Bosch factory tour success

The first WM factory tour of this year's Best Factory Awards winners took place in early December. More than 20 delegates heard how the Bosch management team implemented a world-class manufacturing strategy built on flexibility and lean assembly lines which helped the plant to win the Best Engineering Plant and Health & Safety Award at the 2013 BFAs.
The site was also Highly Commended in the Innovation and Energy & Environment Awards and the BFA judges said the Worcester site was: "a born innovator, which pioneers landmark processes and has a manufacturing strategy that is built on flexibility and lean assembly lines."
Delegates also had the chance to see line-side process innovations including a friction stir welding process developed alongside the Welding Institute, find out more about Bosch's excellent customer service and take a tour of the company's outstanding training facility.
The next WM Factory Tour takes place on 23 January at Autoglym, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. Autoglym was presented with a Highly Commended award in the Judges' Special Award category at the 2013 Best Factory Awards. The company is on a mission to make the world's most successful vehicle care products and will be opening its doors to WM readers on 23 January 2014.
