MGI Co's Sulaymaniyah gas-powered electricity generating plant, in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, is reporting success with its new Mainsaver CMMS.
The computerised maintenance management system, from Spidex Software, was selected by Wood Group to support management of the station's engineering maintenance schedules.
"The onsite staff at Sulaymaniyah are elated with Mainsaver," says project manager Bruce Aubin. "They think it's a great system with lots of versatility."
Spidex provided software, user training, implementation services and remote diagnostic assistance. The opening phase concentrated on maintenance work order management and the establishment of a detailed preventative maintenance regime.
"Site personnel have a really good handle on this project and they are very pleased at how good Spidex's support facilities are," comments Aubin.
"The user assistance supplied to us has been of great value and it is enabling site personnel to increase their level of administrative knowledge and gradually assume ownership of the project."
