British manufacturer pays tribute to Sir Roger Moore

A British car manufacturer has paid tribute to Sir Roger Moore.

The actor, best known for playing James Bond, passed away in Switzerland after a short battle with cancer, his family announced in a statement on social media site Twitter.

Luxury British car maker Aston Martin was among those to pay tribute to the 89-year-old on Tuesday.

It tweeted: “We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Sir Roger Moore. The thoughts of Aston Martin are with his family.”

Moore appeared in seven James Bond films from 1973 to 1985, including Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, and Octopussy.

The statement, from his children, read: “Thank you Pops for being you, and for being so very special to so many people.”
