Alongside the BSIF, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the Health & Safety Laboratory and the Health & Safety Executive, and Trading Standards are all at the centre of safeguarding the implementation of effective health and safety strategies.
The BSIF said: “In the past year, inadequate PPE has hit the headlines on several occasions from safety footwear toe cap failures to banned chemicals in leather gloves and non-compliant high-vis vests so a relaunch of the RSSS is particularly pertinent – the message being anyone can sell safety but you wouldn’t buy safety from just anyone.”
