Open source business intelligence (BI) software firm JasperSoft and Noetix (which provide software that automatically generates BI content from enterprise applications) have launched Jasper4Oracle E-Business Suite, powered by Noetix.
The offering features the JasperSoft BI suite (JBIS) and NoetixViews, a set of reporting objects that deliver business views of an underlying Oracle applications database. Together, say the pair, they provide Oracle E-Business Suite users with intuitive web-based, ad hoc BI – thus competing head-on with Oracle’s own solutions.
“[This] is the latest solution in our Jasper4 program, which delivers business intelligence tailored for packaged applications,” says Jose Morales, VP of business development for JasperSoft “With Jasper4Oracle E-Business Suite, JasperSoft continues to deliver powerful, affordable and easy-to-use solutions that immediately address a company’s most critical business needs.”
It certainly looks impressive: NoetixViews automatically discovers user-specific setups within the Oracle E-Business Suite, deciphers data relationships and joins tables to create a set of database views. JBIS then dynamically reads the database views and delivers intuitive access. Hence the business insight for non-technical employees.
The duo says that the joint solution decreases staffing expense and total cost of ownership of BI for the Oracle E-Business Suite. JBIS, they say, is significantly more affordable than leading proprietary BI solutions, while providing a more modern, web-based architecture. Meanwhile, NoetixViews minimises the need for in-depth knowledge of the Oracle E-Business Suite data structure by providing fully documented views that solve specific business problems.
