Cad-Capture engineers Hummingbird collaborative solution for Parsons Brinckerhoff

Engineering, consulting and management services firm Parsons Brinkerhoff has successfully piloted a new electronic content management system designed to assist with all its client project development work.
Implemented by knowledge management software firm Hummingbird, with assistance from document conversion specialist Cad-Capture, the system enables Parsons Brinkerhoff to manage, share and collaborate on a variety of project-related content, such as emails, drawings and project plans, with third parties like clients, suppliers and contractors.
Project related workspaces also provide for efficient collaboration by enabling users to combine content, discussion threads and so on.
Cad-Capture used its CaptureLink for AutoCAD client extension for Hummingbird Enterprise DM to deliver drawing management facilities, with direct integration for AutoCAD, with support for xrefs and synchronisation of title block attributes for profiling.
It also engineered the ability to view, print and mark-up a variety of project-related content, including native 2D CAD formats, such as AutoCAD, regardless of desktop authoring application, across various distributed UK sites, using CaptureVue 2D.
Following the success of this implementation, Parsons Brinckerhoff intends to make the Hummingbird Enterprise system available across its global operation.
