CDC and Vantage give life sciences software as a service

Manufacturers in the life sciences sector can now get ERP-plus software as a web-delivered service from CDC Software and Vantage Systems, which specialises in the industry.

Vantage has something of a track record with CDC’s former Ross business applications, which include ERP, supply chain planning, CRM (customer relationship management), business process management and EPM (enterprise performance management). The deal is that Vantage will host and manage the Ross applications and provide additional important services, such as GMP assessments, validation, change control, outsource manufacturing collaboration, and chargeback processing. “Mid-size and emerging life science companies require a solution that is highly focused on their business needs and one that offers reduced deployment costs and minimal IT maintenance costs over the life of the system,” comments Eric Musser, CEO and president of CDC Software. “Our managed SaaS [software as a service] offering for life sciences, we believe, is the only solution of its kind available today… We also believe our complete specialised software applications, combined with [Vantage’s] hosting and value-added services, provide the ideal solution for life science companies that need to avoid the overhead and risks of complex, internal deployments.”
