Certex to lift performance on IFS Applications

Lifting gear manufacturer Certex says it expects to increase productivity, improve workflow and boost customer performance when it goes live with IFS Applications across its UK production sites in the third quarter of this year.

Certex, which serves the manufacturing, engineering, offshore, defence and construction industries, makes wire ropes, chains, hoists, loose lifting equipment, height safety equipment and slings to order, and has to work around short customer lead times and frequent order changes. Tony Stringer, Certex managing director, says IFS was chosen to match the company’s key requirement for an agile system also featuring scalability, ease of use and multi-site capabilities with inter-site planning and replenishment. “With IFS, we have found a reasonably priced solution that matches all our workflow requirements, allowing us to have the same software approach rolled out across all of our sites,” says Stringer. “IFS CRM and productivity solutions will make us more efficient in the delivery services and products to our customer base.” The system will support a wide range of business processes, including finance, sales and marketing, supply chain, manufacturing and service and quality across the company’s UK-wide multi-branch distribution network. Certex will also monitor its key business metrics using IFS Balanced Scorecards for KPI measurement. “IFS understands that, due to the time critical nature of the construction industry, construction services and products, companies such as Certex must be able to shorten their response time,” says Paul Massey, IFS managing director. “IFS Applications offers a modern first-class solution to our customers without having to compromise on functionality or scalability.”
