Chrysler Group goes for Siemens PLM Software for design and development
Chrysler Group LLC, the automotive manufacturer with Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Truck and Mopar vehicles to its name, has selected Siemens PLM Software's technology for product design and development.
Scott Kunselman, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler Group, explains that the firm began using Teamcenter software (Siemens PLM Software's digital lifecycle management solution) as its corporate-wide product data management system back in 2008.
That provided a single source of product knowledge, Now, however, the firm has added the NX digital product development software, which it expects to provide efficiency gains in engineering and design and to help create a common overall product development platform.
"Integration of this tool will help to enhance our ability to collectively engineer new products with improved quality and faster time to market," explains Kunselman.
