Clancy to build better business with IFS Applications

Construction firm Clancy says it expects to optimise performance and get real-time cost/profitability reconciliation by integrating systems and improving business processes using IFS Applications ERP.

The deal is worth just over £1 million and involves company-wide deployment of the software over two years to replace Clancy Group’s current in-house and brought in systems. Implementing IFS, says the firm, will enhance efficiency and productivity by, for example, better data integration and management, leading to real-time reporting, in turn facilitating cost analysis and improved resource allocation. Most important, IFS Applications will provide cost/value reconciliation, from tendering to invoicing, and enable the management team to measure profitability and receive detailed cost analyses by company, division and project – right down to worker. This, it believes, will improve the budgetary process and allow a clear statement of the cash book position to be produced on-demand. Clancy financial director Chris Adkins says: “A key challenge in the construction industry is tracking costs of a project and maintaining visibility of overall profitability. IFS could demonstrate that its solution delivers real-time cost/value reconciliation.” Beyond that, it seems to be about enabling better control of work schedules and contract requirements by ensuring, for example, that procurements, orders, inventory and job scheduling are integrated and automatically checked on a regular basis.
