Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company says it’s optimised business performance since implementing Lawson’s Human Capital Management, Enterprise Financial Management and Supply Chain Management suites. The company, which is an independent bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper beverages, completed its beta rollout of Lawson System Foundation 9 in August last year, and then went live with the whole system in just four months. It says it has improved operational efficiencies in particular by providing greater reliability and scalability across. Back in November 2005, GPCC decided it wanted to update its technology so became a beta customer for Lawson System Foundation 9, which became available late in 2006. It then chose to migrate directly from Lawson 7.2 to Lawson 9.0 applications, skipping the Lawson 8.1 version. “A ‘skip’ upgrade was our best option since we wanted to be on the most current technology, but didn’t want to manage more than one migration project,” says Clayton Sliger, CFO at GPCC. “Lawson 9 … is expected to help us manage purchasing processes and provide greater scalability and usability to control operational costs long-term.”
