Industrial crane and hoist manufacturer, Street Crane Company, has launched an initiative to recruit the next generation of engineers to take the business forward.
The company, based in Chapel-en-le-Frith, is looking for recruits at three levels. Post A-level/ONC, trainees can join as junior engineers and will be sponsored through HNC/D and possibly to degree level.
Undergraduate engineers, who have completed their first year of a BEng degree, are invited to apply for sponsored training places. The company also has vacancies for recently graduated engineers seeking their first professional appointment.
Director of development Chris Russell said Street had "exceptional career opportunities for talented engineers looking for professional challenges and development".
HR manager Kathy Travis said the recruitment programme aimed to nurture home-grown talent and was linked to the general development plan for the business so that it could move skilled people into appropriate roles as the company developed. "As a family business Street Crane has a positive ethos, offers competitive rates of pay, good conditions of employment and has an exceptional record of employee retention and progression," she added.
Street manufactures cranes for all branches of industry from primary metal production and stockholding through all branches of engineering to construction components, aerospace and automotive. It boasts that it is the largest crane supplier in the UK and a significant exporter of shipping hoists and other high value components to 70 overseas distributors.
