Manufacturers interested in bidding for Regional Growth Fund support have until 20 March to submit applications for a share of £350 million available in the current round.
RGF roadshows have been held around the country, offering guidance to businesses interested in applying. The final event for round 4 applications will be held in London on 4 March – call 0207 215 3295 for information.
Funding awarded from the first three rounds includes £326 million for 59 projects within the automotive sector, including companies such as Nissan, Zytek and Nifco; £55 million for 14 projects within the life sciences sector, awarded to companies such as Redx Pharma and Molecular Profiles; and £137 million for 16 projects within the aerospace sector, won by Airbus, Aeromet and Druck, among others.
In addition, more than 1,100 grants have been given to SMEs through RGF programmes administered by intermediaries such as banks and local enterprise partnerships.
Successful bidders from round 3 included Yorkshire-based Redigroup, manufacturer of handling and storage solutions. The business secured £1 million to create an automated innovation centre to increase its storage capabilities by 90%.
