Delmia manufacturing simulation moves onto Warwick engineering course

Dassault Systèmes’ Delmia production simulation software is to be used by Warwick Manufacturing Group to provide students and engineers in industry with a bridge between computing and manufacturing.

“Having used Delmia in past industrial projects and with broad experience of Dassault’s PLM [product lifecycle management] manufacturing hub, deploying its software across all our courses made perfect sense,” says Neil Davis, principal teaching fellow at Warwick University. Warwick Manufacturing Group works across a broad range of industries – from aerospace to pharmaceuticals and the automotive supply sector, into food processing. It works with large and small companies and provides technology support, research, and customised and open education on a part-time and full-time basis. Researchers within the WMG have achieved numerous innovations over the past 18 years. Many of these have brought major breakthroughs and benefits to UK industry. “We have close connections to industry,” explains Davis. “Our courses represent or anticipate the spirit of the time. Ten years ago, we devised a masters’ level ‘IT for Manufacture’ course; now we have developed our MSc in Digital Manufacturing Management. “The courses will be offered from the Warwick Digital Laboratory, allowing close collaborative research, courses, and wider knowledge transfer with a range of industrial partners and students.”
