Delphi’s CAD/CAM lands in Europe

Delphi Technologies has appointed Netherlands-based Design Solutions to provide training for its structured CAD/CAM methodologies, Horizontal Modeling (HM) and Digital Process Design (DPD). They run with most CAD/CAM software, and Delphi insists they are proven to reduce product and process design costs, while also increasing productivity throughout the design-to-manufacturing cycle. Analyst VDC reckons software accounted for almost 40% of automotive development costs in 2002, up from just under 30% the year before – and that’s what the Delphi methodologies address. Design Solutions is SolidWorks-based, and operates in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg – but Delphi says we can expect coverage in the UK very soon. “Delphi’s Methods offer our customers a key competitive advantage,” said Arnaud Kooij, managing director at Design Solutions. “We believe the market will readily embrace this training as global manufacturers look for ways to cut their costs and get products to market faster.” Delphi’s HM/DPD programs will be available from Design Solutions beginning in early 2005.
