Dentressangle reports steady progress

The transport and logistics firm Norbert Dentressangle today (28 October) reported the continued recovery of its transport operations and a steady improvement in the logistics business reflected in nine month revenues being up 4.1% to €2,113 million in 2010.

The company – which employs 7,800 people across 93 sites in the UK and boasts customers including Birds Eye, Continental Tyres, Marks & Spencer, McCains, Toyota Material Handling, Ford, General Motors, and Land Rover – said the main trends it reported at the beginning of year were confirmed with a recovery in transport and steady, sequential improvement in logistics. In the first nine months of 2010, Norbert Dentressangle's consolidated revenue totalled €2,113 million, up 4.1%, the improvement being seen in all European countries where it operates. Transport revenue came to €1,226 million (€405 million in Q3), up 6.9% versus the first nine months of 2009 while logistics revenue amounted to €918 million (€319 million in Q3), virtually flat against the same period a year ago, but up steadily on sequential quarterly basis. The freight forwarding business, launched at the beginning of the year, continued to grow steadily, generating revenue of €4 million in the first nine months of 2010 and €2 million in Q3. CEO François Bertreau (pictured said: "We are encouraged by the performance of our transport business in the UK which shows improvement. Our UK logistics business continues to perform well, with a number of new contracts in both ambient and temperature controlled logistics."
