Duvale selects Epicor to slam door on competition

Precision acoustic walls manufacturer Duvale is implementing Epicor 9 to replace discrete systems in finance, manufacturing and sales, and underpin double-digit growth.

Mike Doorly, operations director at the company, which specialises in movable walls, and sliding and folding partitions, says the new system will provide management reporting across the business. "While our current systems have served us well, we believe the business can achieve even greater success and leapfrog its competitors," says Doorly. "Replacing our ERP system is a key part of moving forward [and] what attracted us to Epicor was that it could serve every area of our business out of the box, with few changes, both now and in the future," he continues. One of the key challenges facing Duvale, he explains, was the way its data and applications were isolated from each other – with much of the business relying on spreadsheets developed more than 15 years ago. That led to the company being forced to keep high levels of stock, because it could not guarantee items would be available to meet the planned production timetables. Additionally, Duvale could not monitor performance and profitability of individual production runs, even those that were standard products. "One of the key benefits of Epicor for us is the built-in dashboard and reporting," comments Doorly. "We will be able to run reports to review every aspect of the business, whether financial or manufacturing related, in an instant. "With the dashboard, our staff will be able to monitor their own performance by clocking in and out of individual jobs. We will also achieve accurate visibility across the business, something we have not been able to do before," he adds.
