The world’s first free web-based 3D CAD modelling system has been launched by collaborative design software developer CoCreate.
Based on the company’s professional OneSpace Modelling, the Personal Edition (PE) has full functionality for assemblies up to 60 parts, and is available now and until 31 March for download.
CoCreate says the version will enable engineers, designers and students to experience its dynamic modelling approach to 3D. “Even the most casual user or hobbyist will be immediately productive through a full set of self-paced tutorials, quick-start projects, online help and user forums,” says the company.
The software enables users to import and edit standard 2D and 3D file formats with full geometry control and is said by users to shave weeks, sometimes months, off development timeframes through collaborative parallel working.
“Customers tell us that CoCreate gives them extreme speed, flexibility and responsiveness to change in 3D product development,” says William Gascoigne, CoCreate CEO. “OneSpace Modelling PE ends the industry’s status quo, and lets the 3D CAD users see that there is a fork in the road for 3D product development tools.”
