Edbro wins MOD tipping gear contract
Edbro, the manufacturer of hydraulic truck tipping hoists and waste management equipment has announced that it is to partner ALC, an Amey and VT Group joint venture, to supply tipping gears for Army lorries to the UK Ministry of Defence.
Bolton-based Edbro is supplying its proven CS tipping gear, based on the MOD's requirements and Edbro's experience of the demanding environment for military tippers.
ALC – an equal partnership between Amey and VT Land, part of VT Group, established for the sole purpose of delivering a 'C' vehicle capability MOD contract – sources and supports a global fleet of construction vehicles, plant and field mechanical handling equipment to the British Armed Forces.
Edbro is supplying a total of 134 tipping gears with bodies built by Thompsons mounted on Iveco 6x6 Trakker chassis.
